Responsibilities

A Receiving Lead is responsible for receiving and inventorying all direct store deliveries, performing the following duties:

  • Receives direct store deliveries (DSDs), which constitute 95% of store purchases.
  • Maintains inventory and manages cost/retail accounting.
  • Handles inventory and warehouse invoices from over 400 vendors shipping via UPS.
  • Interacts with all departments involved in receiving deliveries.
  • Manages damages, including DSDs and warehouse credits.
  • Ensures security and cleanliness of all warerooms and behind the store.
  • Supervises six employees in the receiving department.
  • Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience.
  • Requires knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience or training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least one year of experience in a Grocery Department lead position with knowledge of inventory processes and retail accounting principles.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
  • Must hold Power Equipment Operator Permit for power jack and forklift.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Capable of lifting 20 lbs or more occasionally.
