Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position: A Sales Lead will apply advanced skills in procedures and techniques specific to their area of specialization and may carry out supervisory responsibilities. Key duties include:

  1. Ordering assigned products to maximize sales
  2. Possessing and conveying culinary food expertise
  3. Working under minimal supervision with detailed instructions
  4. Applying guidelines, rules, and procedures to decisions
  5. Monitoring and addressing problems promptly
  6. Making sound decisions on everyday issues
  7. Having specific product knowledge depending on the department

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in ordering and possibly writing weekly department schedules
  • Prioritizing high-importance activities
  • Communicating expectations clearly
  • Delegating responsibilities to team members
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining operational effectiveness
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation
  • Managing shrink, safety, and inventory control standards
  • Assisting in merchandising to maximize sales
  • Using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales
Experience and Education (Preferred)
  • Typically requires 5-8 years of experience
  • Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty foods and preparation methods
  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for food
  • Materials Handling Equipment certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in extreme temperatures
  • Previous retail or restaurant experience required
Physical and Other Requirements

Must be able to lift and manage weights exceeding 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
