Job Description

Business Unit/Department Mission: To translate the business plans and strategies set by the General Manager into effective daily operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Provides operational support, oversees facility maintenance, and leads in the absence of the GM and Directors.

Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities:

  1. General Store Operations: Utilize independent judgment to make employment-related and business decisions, including product and department strategies, staffing, and Partner relations. Oversee workflow across the store in the absence of leadership. Address and resolve business, Customer, and Partner issues within guidelines. Recommend strategic changes and ensure operational standards are met through store walks and issue escalation.
  2. Customer Service and Partner Interaction: Maintain a visible presence in the store, build relationships with Customers, and foster positive Partner morale. Ensure store conditions promote safety and cleanliness. Respond promptly to Customer and Partner concerns, including emergencies and requests.
  3. Maintenance and Food Safety & Sanitation: Supervise maintenance staff, including training and performance evaluations. Monitor store conditions, report issues, and coordinate with vendors for repairs and construction. Address equipment issues proactively, ensure proper temperature controls, and handle incidents related to product safety or quality.
  4. Loss Prevention: Initiate calls for potential issues, act as the point of contact for observing department concerns, and take immediate corrective actions for shrinkage and security issues. Collaborate with security and law enforcement to prevent theft and minimize disruptions. Secure cash tills daily.
  5. Other Duties: Prepare Capital Requests, monitor licenses and registrations, oversee security measures, manage expenses, and perform other duties to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient store environment.

Education and Experience: Successful completion of Central Market University (CMU) training, 3-5 years of management experience, and a background in handling sensitive issues, emergency response, and theft prevention. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Knowledge of store operations, food safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance is preferred.

Physical and Other Requirements: Exposure to moving parts, chemicals, and confined spaces. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk for long periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and pushing heavy loads.
