Job summary

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) invites applications for a Cook at its central kitchen in Bloomfield, CT. You will prepare lunch and dinner, assist with breakfast and snacks, and maintain a clean kitchen.

The role includes supervising youth during meal prep as needed, with a starting wage of $20.25 per hour and a Sunday/Monday/Friday/Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm, plus Thursday 6:00am-2:00pm. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of cooking experience or a food

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year cooking experience or food service certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in accordance with established menu cycles.
• Work with program staff in collaboration and partnership.
• Restock supplies within budget and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure proper food storage and safe handling of foods.
• Supervise youth assisting in meal preparation when appropriate.
• Maintain personal cleanliness and use appropriate protective gear.
• Sanitize workspace before and after food-related activities.
• Report food services issues to Program Director or designee.
• Comply with city, state and federal health codes.
• Remain knowledgeable of CSI policies and procedures.
