Job summary

JobRx, Inc. in Naperville, IL is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will process prescriptions, verify insurance, assist in billing, and update patient information in the system while coordinating with the pharmacist and other technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescriptions quickly using computer software.
  • Coordinate high-volume patient deliveries by phone.
  • Maintain clean and organized central pharmacy.
  • Complete insurance verification.
  • Apply manufacturer coupons when applicable.
  • Assist pharmacist with queue management.
  • Train and mentor other technicians.
  • Ensure proper billing procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support after-hours needs as required.

Job description

Summary

Self-motivated, efficient, responsible multitasker to join our team. Candidate will communicate with patients to effectively provide medications, pull and package prescriptions, bill and charge credit cards and update patient information in the system. Help in the management of other technician staff and coordinating inventory with the pharmacist.

Education and Experience

High School Graduate (or equivalent) is required. Pharmacy Technician for at least 1 year is required - previous experience in pharmacy or other related healthcare fields.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process/navigate prescriptions using computer software quickly and efficiently.
  • Perform high call volume to coordinate patient deliveries.
  • Keep central pharmacy clean and organized.
  • Complete insurance verification.
  • Apply manufacturers coupons if applicable.
  • Help the pharmacist in queue management to create efficiencies.
  • Assist in management and training of other pharmacy technicians.
  • Actively monitor that proper billing procedures are being implemented.
  • Have outstanding customer service skills.
  • Be able to work in an independent environment.
  • Take directions and initiatives from Lead Central Technician and DOCO.

Additional Requirements

Candidate will communicate with patients to effectively provide medications, pull and package prescriptions, bill and charge credit cards and update patient information in the system. Most of our communication with patients is through the telephone, so you must have an excellent phone presence, including being friendly, professional, and well spoken. Although we do not require pharmacy experience, it is appreciated!

Must have 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.

Pioneer Software is recommended but not required.
