Job summary

Hannaford Supermarkets in Jay, ME is seeking a capable Center Store Department Lead to help run operations and support the Assistant Store Manager-Center Store and Customer Service in achieving sales goals. You will lead the team, model high service standards, and mentor associates to strengthen customer relations.

You will drive merchandising excellence, maintain safety and quality, and ensure accurate records and efficient scheduling.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Retail center store experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Certified Food Safety Manager or ability to obtain accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Center Store Department operations in accordance with established department standard practices.
• Lead excellent customer service and goodwill by role modeling high standards.
• Aid in growing sales through effective merchandising strategies.
• Maintain department conditions regarding appearance, quality, variety, safety, sanitation, and food safety.
• Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
• Utilize financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems.
• Assist in creating and maintaining work schedules to meet standards and associates' needs.
• Provide real time coaching and assist with performance management.
• Assist in training and developing associates to meet department needs.
• Maintain solid communication in the department and with store management.
• Observe and follow all company policies and practices.
