Job Summary

Job Title: Center Store Assistant Manager-PM

Reports to: Center Store Manager

Summary:

The Center Store Assistant Manager-PM supports operations and leadership across multiple departments, including Grocery, Frozen/Dairy, Natural & Organic, and Health & Beauty Care/General Merchandise. The role involves maintaining department standards, inventory accuracy, and supporting afternoon and night shifts. The assistant manager collaborates with leadership, trains staff, and ensures excellent guest experiences.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support Center Store departments, adapting to daily needs.
  2. Ensure leadership continuity by stepping in during absences of the Store Manager(s).
  3. Train, coach, and re-train associates to ensure high performance and reinforce company culture.
  4. Maintain department standards including inventory, pricing, and cleanliness.
  5. Communicate and collaborate with store leadership and staff to exceed guest expectations.
  6. Verify accurate timekeeping and address scheduling issues.
  7. Assist guests with product locations, special orders, and inquiries.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department and work areas.
  9. Support performance reviews and document policy violations, collaborating with HR when necessary.
  10. Support cashier duties and store closing procedures as needed.
  11. Maintain regular, timely attendance and support team efforts.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of retail food operations, especially non-perishable departments.
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of safety policies and equipment operation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift 50-60 pounds occasionally, and work in varying temperatures. Repetitive tasks and visual monitoring are required.

Work Schedule

Full-time, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
