Job description

ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is accepting applications for a Center Operations Manager to oversee our Fond du Lac Head Start Center! ADVOCAP’s Head Start program prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position will ensure child safety and provide structure and stability to the Centers’ daily classroom, transportation, and other essential services. This position will directly supervise all personnel engaged in activities at designated area Center and build teams with a focus on ADVOCAP’s core values.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise assigned staff at Center.
  • Oversee all activities at assigned Center ensuring a safe, professional learning environment for children, staff, volunteers, partners, etc.
  • Establish a regular management presence at the Center.
  • Coordinate daily schedules for supervised staff and arrange for substitutes to ensure continuity of services.
  • Promote team building, corporate values, and positive communication among staff and partners.
  • Participate in meetings pertaining to program service needs of children and families.
  • Work closely with other COM’s and Head Start management staff to plan, evaluate, and implement continuous program improvements to benefit program participants.
  • Keep the Head Start Assistant Director and Director informed and seek guidance on issues arising pertaining to staff, partnerships, and other sensitive matters.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college/university and three to five months of previous work experience is required to meet job standards
  • Successful experience supervising others in a dynamic work environment
  • Strong communication, planning, team development, leadership, and activity organizing skills
  • Ability to participate in training and secure certifications as required
  • Flexibility and capacity to manage in all areas of the Head Start program
  • Class observer certification required or willing to obtain
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance as this position travels occasionally using a personal vehicle
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain
  • Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic

Salary and Benefits: This full-time position will begin immediately and will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional
Fridays and weekends. The entry/starting wage for this position is $23.75 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
The full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and
holiday pay, and our employer contribution 401k.
