Job Description

The Center of Excellence Registered Nurse works in collaboration with the Total Joint, Bariatric, and Spine Team, assisting in patient education classes and providing nursing support to patients, families, staff, and physicians. The RN will assist in maintaining the program's readiness through ongoing compliance activities, participating in physician team meetings, Joint Commission meetings, and representing the Total Joint and Spine Center as needed. Monitors quality standards as per the Performance Improvement Plan, Joint Commission standards, and other regulatory agencies. Assists the Center of Excellence Director with report generation, process improvement, staff education, and patient satisfaction.

Required Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Current Texas RN license required; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an orthopedic nurse
• BLS certification required
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and personalities with a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred; willingness to learn necessary computer applications
