Job summary

B Positive Plasma is seeking a Center Manager to oversee donor suitability, product integrity, and donor health in compliance with FDA and state regulations. You will manage center operations, training, scheduling, and QA-related activities to ensure safety and quality across procedures.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and adherence to SOPs, with the ability to travel to other centers for training and staffing needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; advanced degrees preferred in management, nursing, finance, or science.
  • Current LPN nursing license in good standing for the state of application.
  • CPR and BLS certification must be active and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure center operations, product storage, documentation, and training meet SOP, state and federal guidelines.
  • Regularly review center logs, forms, training records, and equipment validations for compliance.
  • Manage donor flow and on-site personnel; handle scheduling and day-to-day issues.
  • Recruit, onboard, train new hires; perform performance assessments per SOP.
  • Report errors to QA and assist with QA audits and corrective actions.
  • Investigate center issues, donor complaints, and SOP-related matters.
  • Oversee receipt of positive test results and quarantine/destruction of questionable units.
  • Assist with product shipments preparation and center inventory management.
  • Respond to alarms; maintain safety, cleanliness, and organized facilities.
  • Travel to other facilities for training or staffing support as needed.

The Center Manager will ensure donor suitability, product integrity, and the continued good health of donors through the compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, the Standard Operating Procedure Manual guidelines of the Company and any other applicable regulatory standards.

Description

The Center Manager will perform under the supervision of the Operations Manager and at times will take instruction and tasks from the Senior Director of Operations. The Center Manager will ensure donor suitability, product integrity, and the continued good health of donors through the compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, the Standard Operating Procedure Manual guidelines of the Company and any other applicable regulatory standards.

Duties To Include But Not Limited To
  • Ensure all center operations, product storage, documentation, facility maintenance, quality control, and training are current and consistent with the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures Manual (the “SOP”), current State and Federal guidelines, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and any other internal Company procedures
  • Regular review and updating, as needed, of center documentation such as logs, forms, training records, proficiency testing, and equipment validations/qualifications to ensure compliance
  • Manage the center’s donor flow and on-site personnel, including scheduling, managing break times, and responding to day-to-day issues and concerns; elevate issues when necessary
  • Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new hires; complete performance assessments of all designated center employees according to the SOP and perform retraining as needed
  • Report to Quality Assurance any errors/incidents that may affect the safety, purity, identity, or quality of blood products; assist in responding to Quality Assurance audits, as needed
  • Review, investigate and respond to center related issues, donor complaints, employee concerns, post-donation information, and other operational matters in accordance with the SOP or other relevant company policies
  • Handle the receipt of positive test results or other product-related issues; oversee the quarantining and/or the destruction of questionable or unacceptable units
  • Assist with the preparation for and completion of product shipments
  • React to all security and freezer alarms or concerns that occur on or off hours
  • Responsible for inventory management and purchasing of all cleaning, office and medical supplies
  • Ensure center is regularly clean, safe and organized; handle and/or report maintenance, facility, safety, and equipment concerns or issues
  • Available to travel to other facility(ies) for training or assisting other center's staffing needs
  • Fill in and assist with center operations, when needed
  • Other duties, as assigned
Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma, required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred in Management, Business, Nursing, Finance, or science related field (must provide documentation)
  • Current nursing license (LPN) in good standing for state applying for
  • Current CPR, BLS certification

Physical Requirements
  • Read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documents
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices
  • Work confidently while being observed during frequent quality inspections
  • Work in walk in - Subzero freezer(s)
  • Ability to lift, pull, tug up to 50 pounds to stock supplies and/or move or support donors
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment used on donor floor areas that may require repetitive motion and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves
