The Associate Clinical Therapist, working alongside a licensed professional, will assess and treat individuals with mental illnesses or substance abuse problems. Services include individual and group therapy, outreach, crisis intervention, social rehabilitation, and teaching skills for everyday living across all ages (children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) in a behavioral health environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Temporary Social Work permit OR LGSW OR PLPC
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide psychosocial assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental strengths and problems related to their diagnosis, illness, treatment, and/or life situation.
  • Assist in creating a comprehensive psychosocial treatment plan using appropriate clinical social work treatments and interventions, including crisis intervention, individual, marital, family, and group therapies, as well as grief and bereavement work.
  • Screen, identify, diagnose, and assist in the treatment of mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Assist with screening, identification, diagnosis, management, and treatment of victims of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, rape, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues affecting patient care, e.g., advance directives, child and elder abuse.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding adaptation to diagnosis, illness, treatment, and life situations.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain familiarity with community resources and agency liaison.
  • Understand hospital, medical center, and health system resources to access and provide for patient needs.
  • Document assessments, plans, interactions, and interventions per guidelines.
  • Attend staff, committee, and departmental meetings.
  • Stay current with social work and healthcare developments.

  • Prolonged sitting required.
Working Environment

Additional Details
