Job summary

Children's Wisconsin is seeking a Center Core Technician to support surgical teams with organized, precise handling of sterile instruments and supplies. This role ensures instruments are available, tracked in SPM, and properly reprocessed to maintain patient safety.

The work schedule is Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, no weekends or on-call; candidates must have strong attention to detail and the ability to stand and maneuver equipment for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• 2+ years of sterile processing experience.
• Analytical ability to learn and differentiate instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with physicians, nursing staff and patients/families.

Responsibilities

• Completes and coordinates delivery of case carts, instruments, supplies and equipment to ORs.
• Monitors and maintains instrument levels in the center core.
• Assists with loaning/borrowing of supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Coordinates reprocessing of turnover items.
• Reads doctor preference cards to locate supplies.
• Tracks instruments in SPM.
• Restocks supplies and instruments on specialty carts.
• Transports instruments to ORs and returns unused items.
