Position Summary: The Center Administrator works closely with the Center Director to manage the operations of the Center for Irish Studies, providing support in the coordination and development of all Center programs and initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing Center operations; fiscal reporting, planning, and budget management; supervising the Center’s student fellows and interns; event planning, community outreach, promotion and management; public relations and communications. Limited travel and occasional attendance at evening events is anticipated.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the operations of the Center, including budget, fiscal reporting, and payments; the Center shared files and folders; and Center materials for students. Work with the Irish Studies administrative assistant in payments, calendar, and newsletter. Assist Director in coordinating visits by Irish Fulbrights, visiting Heimbold Chair, and other residencies. Assign tasks to Administrative Assitant staff. Supervise student fellows.
- Collaborate with the Director to plan, develop, promote and execute Center programs and events; plan and execute annual meetings with community groups. Work with Advancement to coordinate fund-raising efforts and publications. Assist the Director on the annual report and donor reports.
- Develop and update communication materials associated with Center initiatives, including the Center website, newsletters and social media; maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff and other centers at Villanova; donors; external partners, including the Irish Government (Consulate General of Ireland; Culture Ireland, Office of the Irish Ambassador; Fulbright IIE , NiCCONA), and local residents and community organizations including the Irish Diaspora Center and the Irish American Business Chamber and Network.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences or related discipline required; Master’s degree in related discipline desirable.
- Strong program, event and budget management skills; experience with communications, marketing, and public relations, including website management and social media.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and events, and to work with and gain the respect of multiple constituencies, including faculty, staff, alumni, students, professionals and the general public.
- Knowledge of Ireland, the Irish diaspora, and interest in Irish culture.
- Other requirements include Minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant and applicable work environment
- required. Equivalent of work experience or years of education will be considered.
- Proficiency in all standard computer applications, including Microsoft office products, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel. General knowledge of office principles and procedures is required. Knowledge of Banner and Sharepoint preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related discipline desirable.
- Knowledge of Banner, Salesforce preferred.
- Work in a not-for-profit organization with a public-facing and/or student involvement.
- Some experience traveling to or living in Ireland.

Salary Posting Information: This position falls within salaried grade 13 and the range is $52,000-65,100. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
