Job summary

Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to perform groundskeeping and maintenance across cemetery properties. You will operate lawn equipment, assist with interments, and help keep grounds in pristine condition.

The role requires at least 1 year of grounds experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. It is a full-time, on-site position with safety and teamwork as core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year grounds experience.
• Cemetery grounds experience strongly preferred.
• Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks of grounds maintenance requiring use and general maintenance of mechanized equipment including lawn equipment such as weed eaters, mowers, hedge trimmers, edger, pruners and leaf vacuums/blowers.
• Performs setup and completion of interments and entombments including excavation to proper level and assisting with lifting and placing caskets on lowering devices.
• Correctly identifies and locates interment spaces on cemetery maps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates teamwork, detail orientation, customer service and time management.
