Job summary

Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ is seeking a Grounds Keeper to maintain grounds, assist with interments, and help manage cemetery spaces. You will operate lawn equipment, perform setup and lifting tasks, and read cemetery maps accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year grounds experience.
• Cemetery grounds experience strongly preferred.
• Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks of grounds maintenance with mechanized equipment (lawn mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, edger).
• Set-up and completion of interments and entombments, including grave excavation and assisting with casket placement.
• Correctly identifies and locates interment/entombment spaces on cemetery maps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, and time management.
