Job summary

Milestone Funeral Partners is seeking a dependable Cemetery Caretaker & Crematory Operator for Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, ME. This full-time, on-site role involves groundskeeping, burial support, and learning crematory operations while maintaining a respectful environment.

You will work outdoors in all weather, perform interments, installations of memorials, and operate crematory equipment as part of a dedicated funeral services team. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic, reliability, maturity, and attention to detail.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to learn crematory operations and equipment.
• Ability to safely use and maintain hand tools and power equipment.
• Ability to perform physical work, including standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cemetery grounds, including grass, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, shovels, and other equipment.
• Fill, tamp, seed, and sod graves as needed.
• Perform openings/closings for burials and interments.
• Set, install, and assemble memorials and markers.
• Assist with cremation-related services and interments.
• Learn and operate crematory equipment and machinery.
• Follow safety and operational standards.
