Job summary

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is seeking a full-time Grounds Crew member to assist with the preparation for burials while maintaining the sacredness of the cemetery grounds. The position involves various duties, including mowing grass, pruning trees, and assisting with entombments.

Applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to work in all weather conditions. Mechanically inclined individuals who can lift heavy items and use lawn care equipment are especially encouraged to apply. The role requires respect for all individuals and the mission of the Diocese.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be fluent in English and have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work in ALL types of weather.
• Able to lift at least 100 lbs.
• Mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of burial sites according to section, lot, and plot number.
• Assist with the placement of burial vaults.
• Set up canopy and arrange folding chairs for burial service.
• Mow grass using hand mower or riding lawn mower.
• Prune shrubs, trim trees, and perform other landscaping projects.
• Drive vehicles such as backhoe, trucks, and tractors.
