Job summary

Spring Grove Cemetery & Funeral Homes is seeking a Grounds Technician to support the Grounds Team in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves hands-on maintenance of cemetery grounds, equipment operation, and assistance in burial-site preparation and services.

The position is full-time, outdoors, with physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds. You will work closely with funeral directors and staff, ensuring safety and quality in all outdoor grounds activities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• No experience necessary; experience in grounds maintenance helpful.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with high attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance of grounds areas.
• Operate backhoe (excavation and backfilling).
• Assist with burial site preparation including setting of plywood boards, excavation, grave lining, and tamping.
• Operate soil hauler, tractor and trailer.
• Assist with all mowing and trimming of cemetery grounds.
• Read and follow diagrams and SOPs for equipment.
• Lead services to funeral sites and assist funeral director and family at burial locations.
• Install markers, monument foundations, and monuments.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions; physical demands include bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 75 pounds).
• Local travel between campuses may be required.
