Job summary

SCI is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance Associate in Piedmont, SC to perform openings/closings for burials, install memorials, and maintain grounds and facilities. The role requires a high school diploma and at least six months of equipment operation experience, plus a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Safety and quality standards are emphasized, with ongoing training through Dignity University.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience operating standard equipment.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs openings & closings for burials, entombments and inurnments.
• Sets, installs, and assembles foundations, memorials, and markers.
• Installs outer burial containers.
• Handles and completes work orders from client families re graves/markers maintenance.
• Responds to service/work orders.
• Conducts Interment Verification Procedures.
• Prepares 25ft radius for burials and keeps area clean.
• Fills grave, tamp, seeds or sods.
• Adheres to safety rules and Universal Precautions.
• Maintains assets via preventive maintenance on machines/equipment.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Completes Dignity University courses.
• Adheres to Dignity Memorial Promise.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
