Job summary

sci is seeking an entry-level Cemetery Groundskeeper to maintain grounds at cemetery or funeral home locations in Midland, TX. You will perform lawn care, grounds maintenance and assist with interments while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and basic communication with staff and families. Prior cemetery or funeral industry exposure is a plus; schedule may vary to meet needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant landscaping, construction, warehouse, or physical labor experience.
• Funeral industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass and maintains lawns, flower beds, and shrubs to standard.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.
• Removes debris and trash from grounds and maintains overall appearance.
• Assists in openings and closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• Assists in determining grave locations with supervision and verification procedures.
• Performs minor repairs to cemetery, buildings, or equipment.
• May assist in cremation-related duties under supervision and in compliance with regulations.
• Follows safety rules and OSHA/environmental guidelines.
