Job summary

Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker to maintain cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home grounds. You will locate grave sites, perform interments, install memorials, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for families.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least six months of grounds maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of grounds keeping/maintenance experience
• Professional in speech and appearance for client interactions

Responsibilities

• Interment procedures: locate and mark sites, open/close gravesite, set up services site, install memorials
• Resolve customer service requests, sometimes with family present
• Cuts grass and maintains lawn, walkways, and memorial markers
• Lays sod, trims around trees, edges with edger
• Moves flowers to/from chapel and graveside, clears debris
• Cleans ponds and fountains, handles hand digging/trenching
• Cleans and maintains funeral home/mausoleum facilities and equipment
• Assists in loading/unloading caskets, vehicle and cart cleaning
