Job summary

NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker for Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes in Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on grounds keeping, cemetery and funeral home maintenance, and assisting with interments and memorialization to honor families’ traditions.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of grounds keeping experience, a valid driver’s license, and backhoe certification or formal training preferred. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of experience in grounds keeping and/or maintenance.
• Backhoe certification and/or documented training with experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grounds keeping: lawn care, trimming, sod, clean debris from drives and walkways.
• Facilities cleaning: maintain appearance, minor repairs, loading/unloading caskets, vehicle cleaning.
• Interment/memorialization: assist in locating grave sites and perform related duties.
• Operate and manage equipment as needed including backhoe where certified.
