Job summary

Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker to maintain and care for cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home locations. Responsibilities include grounds keeping, interments, and facilities upkeep to ensure a respectful, safe environment.

Compensation is $15.45 to $16.50 per hour with benefits such as health coverage, life and disability Insurance, EAP, and a 401(k). NorthStar Memorial Group backs the role in a supportive, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6+ months of experience in grounds keeping and/or maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Grounds keeping: cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees and memorial markers, lays sod, moves flowers, blows leaves, edges with edger, clears debris, keeps drives walkways clean.
• Facilities cleaning: maintains overall appearance of funeral homes/mausoleum, performs minor repairs and painting, assists in loading/unloading caskets, washes vehicles and golf carts.

Evergreen Cemetery is looking for a Cemetery Caretaker to join our team in Tucson, AZ where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. The Cemetery Caretaker is responsible for the overall appearance of cemetery, mausoleum, and funeral home locations, including maintenance and grounds keeping, locating grave sites, digging graves, installing crypt faces, memorials, monuments, conducting interments, entombments and inurnments, and repairs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Grounds Keeping:
• Cuts grass.
• Maintains lawn and trims around trees, walkways, and memorial markers
• Lays sod
• Moves and removes flowers to and from the chapel and graveside.
• Blows leaf and grass
• Edges with stick edger
• Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways in a safe condition.
• Cleans ponds and fountains
• Hand digs/trenching

• Facilities Cleaning:
• Maintains overall appearance and cleanliness of funeral homes and/or mausoleum facilities.
• Cleans and maintains the facility, performs minor repairs, painting, etc.
• Assists in loading and unloading caskets.
• Vehicle and golf cart washing/cleaning
  

Qualifications
