Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a dedicated Yard Team Member to safely manage cement handling at the terminal. You will load/unload bulk cement, operate conveyors and forklifts, track inventories, and perform basic preventive maintenance while ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

You will collaborate with drivers and customers, follow OSHA guidelines, and contribute to accurate recordkeeping. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork across daily shifts.

Qualifications

  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights.
  • Needs ability to work in dusty, noisy outdoor environments in varying weather.
  • Must stand, walk, bend, kneel and perform physically demanding work.
  • Must wear PPE, including respirators when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload bulk cement from trucks, railcars, and storage silos.
  • Operate terminal equipment (conveyors, pumps, compressors, forklifts, skid steers, etc.).
  • Monitor product flow and storage levels for efficiency.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and report malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate shipment, inventory, and operation records.
  • Follow safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental procedures.

Job description

The Cement Terminal Team Member is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of cement products at the terminal. This position supports daily terminal operations, including loading and unloading bulk cement, operating equipment, maintaining inventory, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities
  • Safely load and unload bulk cement from trucks, railcars, and storage silos.
  • Operate terminal equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, forklifts, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Monitor product flow and storage levels to ensure efficient terminal operations.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting operational issues and report equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and operational activities.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental procedures.
  • Keep the terminal clean and organized through routine housekeeping.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliation.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Support emergency response procedures and report safety concerns immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other heavy equipment (or willingness to become certified).
  • Basic computer and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
