Job summary

NexTier Completion Solutions Inc. in Midland, TX seeks a Cement Operator 3 to oversee safe operation of bulk equipment, rig-up of iron, and high-pressure pump activities on well-site projects.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • 4 years of experience in cementing/rigging operations.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and HSE standards.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Proficiency with cement pumps, blenders, and bulk equipment.
  • Basic math and computer skills for field calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe operation of bulk equipment, rig-up of iron, and high-pressure pumps.
  • Maintain integrity of discharge iron installations.
  • Prepare cement pumping equipment for well sites.

  • Drive company light-duty and commercial vehicles as required.

Job description

Detailed Description:
  • Responsible for the safe operation of bulk equipment, rig-up of iron, and high-pressure pump operations during service delivery in accordance with customer designs and KPIs.
  • Maintains the integrity of discharge iron installations.
  • Prepares cement pumping equipment for the well site.
  • Performs equipment function checks in preparation for jobs.
  • Utilizes real-time data under dynamic job conditions and communicates results to the appropriate personnel at the site.
  • Drives company light-duty and commercial vehicles as required.
  • Promotes safety awareness, environmental consciousness, and actively participates in quality improvement processes.
  • Conducts pre-job and post-job safety meetings to identify hazards and risks.
  • Completes the rig down of equipment and ensures cleanliness upon return to facilities.
  • Assists with blow down, field bin movement, and vertical silo relocation.
  • Ensures a high level of efficiency and readiness in equipment operations.
  • Performs work independently and assists other employees as directed.
  • Complies with customer and company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participates in safety meetings to identify and mitigate risks and hazards.
  • Completes a respirator fit test as required.
Job Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of and compliance with DOT rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of company policies, HSE standards, and PSL guidelines.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining bulk equipment, high-pressure mixing pumps, blenders, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment and cement heads.
  • Proficiency in rigging up and rigging down high-pressure iron and other equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English for effective communication and instruction.
  • Strong mathematical skills for job-related calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.
Language Comprehension:

Must understand and speak English at a level sufficient to issue, receive, and respond to both safety and operations-related directions.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 4 years.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • HAZMAT Endorsement.
