Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an experienced oncology/hematology RN to join our Cellular Therapy team. You will collaborate with clinicians to deliver advanced stem cell transplant care and related therapies, including CAR-T.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of recent Cellular Therapy experience (Stem Cell Transplant and/or Immune Effector Cell), CAR-T
• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification—AHA/ABCA/Red Cross, required on hire with renewal every two years
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification—required within 30 days of hire and renewed every two years
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certificate preferred on hire, renewed every two years
• ONS Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation course within 30 days of hire or BMTCN certification

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and other health care providers to provide direct and indirect care across malignant hematology and stem cell transplantation.
• Provides staffing to multiple patient care areas including Cellular Therapy Inpatient Unit and Specialty Clinic.
• Administers cellular therapy products, chemotherapy, immunotherapies and blood products.
• Assists in procedures such as bone marrow biopsy or donor apheresis.
• Monitors immunocompromised patients and manages adverse events.
• Performs ECG interpretation and responds to rhythm changes.
• Educates patients and families on treatment plans, regimens and home resources.
• Maintains patient safety using six rights, patient monitoring and documentation in CRM/HIS systems.
