Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cellular Engineer to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. The role involves designing, developing, integrating, testing, and evaluating cellular and wireless capabilities under the JCREW program, with emphasis on 3G, LTE, and 5G environments, plus software engineering using C, C++, and Python.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, networks, wireless communications, protocol development, or test & evaluation.
• Experience with cellular protocols and standards including 3G, LTE, and 5G.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience developing, executing, or supporting structured test activities in lab or field environments.
• Understanding of wireless protocol fundamentals, device behavior, vulnerabilities, and performance characteristics.
• Ability to analyze technical data and clearly document findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across multiple technical teams.
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of cellular and wireless capabilities for government R&D, development, and test activities.
• Develop and assess cellular protocol implementations across 3G, LTE, and 5G environments.
• Perform software engineering activities using C, C++, and Python, including debugging and maintenance.
• Develop, execute, and refine test plans and protocols for lab, simulated, OTA, and field tests.
• Support test & evaluation activities from preparation through data analysis and briefing development.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams in engineering, software, RF analysis, and modeling/simulation.
