Job summary

Founders Brewing Company (Mahou USA) seeks a Brewing Assistant to support beer making through sanitation, fermentation oversight, and ingredient handling. You will work within a safe, clean environment, following SOPs from wort receipt to packaging.

Responsibilities include monitoring fermentation, assisting in barrel brewing, and coordinating with other departments while utilizing a warehouse management system for scheduling and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform duties with safety and cleanliness in mind.
• Experience or familiarity with sanitary beverage processing is a plus.
• Ability to follow SOPs and work with a team in a production environment.
• Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties necessary to maintain a safe, clean and sanitary fermentation cellar.
• Follow established SOPs towards processing from wort receipt through fermentation to packaging.
• Clean and maintain cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank.
• Maintain and improve sanitation and safety levels of the brewery.
• Monitor fermentation profiles, progress and temperatures of vessels and glycol system.
• Contribute to brewing process by adding various ingredients as directed.
• Participate in wooden barrel brewing procedures.
• Assist other departments when time allows.
• Assist in managing inventory and process scheduling with WMS daily.

SUMMARY

Assists in beer making process by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform duties necessary to maintain a safe, clean and sanitary fermentation cellar.


• Follow established SOP’s towards accomplishing all needs associated in processing from receipt of wort from brewhouse through fermentation process to finished and ready to package beer.


• Clean and maintain all cold side brewing equipment through packaging tank.


• Maintain and improve overall sanitation and safety levels of brewery.


• Monitor fermentation profiles, progress, and temperatures of vessels and glycol system.


• Contribute to brewing process as directed in adding of various ingredients to beer.


• Participate in all factors of wooden barrel brewing procedures.


• Assist other departments when time allows.


• Assist in managing inventory and process scheduling through use of Orchestrated Beer and Warehouse Management Systems on a daily basis.
