Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to act as a Cell Therapy Technical Specialist in the Translational Area. Located at the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus, the role develops, validates, and produces novel cell therapies, serving as a technical resource and project lead.

Responsibilities include coordinating development plans, supervising QC testing, maintaining documentation, and guiding CT staff, with emphasis on data integrity and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related lab field meeting CLIA qualifications.
• BS/BA with biology and chemistry coursework meeting CLIA supervisor qualifications.
• Master’s degree or combination education/experience accepted per CLIA rules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate product development, validation plans, and assay development.
• Oversee QC testing (flow cytometry, bioburden, cell enumeration, viability, potency).
• Document batch records/SOPs and vendor/equipment qualifications.
• Provide guidance and troubleshooting support to CT staff.
• Direct daily tasks and performance reviews for CT team.
