Job summary

A prominent educational institution in Philadelphia is seeking a Quality Control Technologist for clinical testing in cell and gene therapy trials. Ideal candidates will have a background in Biology or Immunology, with experience in cell culture and assay procedures. This full-time position offers a salary range of $36,124 to $48,164 annually, along with comprehensive university benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or relevant scientific field.
• One to two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in cell culture or immunology required.
• Direct experience with cell culture and stringent aseptic technique strongly preferred.
• Experience with microbiology, flow cytometry, and functional assays desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous experience with clinical trials and clinical product release testing preferred.
• Efficient time management, strong organizational and record-keeping skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and FDA guidelines for cGMP and GCP is desired.
• Flexibility to work weekends; position is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical release testing on cell therapy products, including sterility assays, viability, residual bead counting, immunophenotyping (Flow Cytometry), and ex vivo culture assays.
• Accurately gather data, adhere to established protocols, and ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to method, equipment, reagent, and supply validation and/or qualification as needed.
• Work as an Essential University employee and report to work during inclement weather or university closures when required.
