Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or relevant scientific field.
  • One to two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in cell culture or immunology required.
  • Direct experience with cell culture and stringent aseptic technique strongly preferred.
  • Experience with microbiology, flow cytometry, and functional assays desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with clinical trials and clinical product release testing preferred.
  • Efficient time management, strong organizational and record-keeping skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and FDA guidelines for cGMP and GCP is desired.
  • Flexibility to work weekends; position is contingent upon funding.

Overview

Quality Control Technologist (Center for Cellular Immunotherapy) — University of Pennsylvania

The Quality Control Technologist will support QC clinical testing activities for cell and gene therapy clinical trials, in the Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility (CVPF) at the University of Pennsylvania. The role reports to the Quality Control Team Lead and operates under GMP/GLP conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical release testing on cell therapy products, including sterility assays, viability, residual bead counting, immunophenotyping (Flow Cytometry), and ex vivo culture assays.
  • Accurately gather data, adhere to established protocols, and ensure data integrity.
