Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (e.g., medical technology/medical laboratory sciences or biological, chemical or physical science) required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, or AMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cellular therapy processing and cryopreservation procedures in accordance with SOPs with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintains accurate documentation in compliance with FDA Good Tissue Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices; follows FACT, CAP and AABB standards.
• Demonstrates workflow organization and time management.
• Reviews processing records for acceptability, accuracy, and completeness.
• Serves as a resource for documentation questions and applications per regulations and SOPs.
• Performs reagent and instrument quality control at appropriate intervals and records results.
• Participates in equipment qualification and procedure validation applications.
• Assists in troubleshooting guidelines.
• Familiarizes with processing and dose requirements for transplant protocols at SJCRH.
• Assists in maintaining coverage to promote workflow.
