Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking an experienced leader to drive external scientific engagement and strategy for its Cell Therapy portfolio. The role coordinates partnerships with academic institutions, investigators, and professional societies to accelerate clinical development and evidence generation.

You will design and execute ESPs, IITs, and strategy for priority congresses, translating external insights into actionable plans across R&D, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in life sciences, biotech, or related scientific field.
• Experience in strategy consulting, business intelligence, or competitive intelligence.
• Ability to translate external insights into actionable recommendations for R&D, portfolio, and program decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and external engagement with investigators, academic institutions, or societies.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed R&D environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive communication.
• Proficiency in English; strong MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and congresses.

Responsibilities

• Lead external scientific panels and academic partnerships.
• Develop congress strategies for major forums such as ASH, ASCO, EHA, and ESMO.
• Manage site relationships and investigator engagement across Cell Therapy portfolios.
• Oversee Externally Sponsored Collaborative Research governance and IIT reviews.
• Translate external insights into portfolio decisions and study designs.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and budget alignment across engagements.
