Job summary

World Headquarters in Pontiac, MI is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician to perform brazing and bonding operations and to set up various equipment including heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, polishing, laser identification, expander, pressure test and power flush.

You will remove burrs and tool marks to meet engineering blueprints and tolerance requirements, and complete inspection and test activities.

Responsibilities

• Completes brazing processes and other bonding techniques.
• Sets up and operates manufacturing equipment (heat treat ovens, cleaning, polishing, laser I.D, expander, tests).
• Removes burrs and tool marks to meet drawings and tolerances.
• Performs inspection and testing to ensure parts meet specs.
• Uses hand tools, grinders, drills, saws, tubing equipment and related items for assembly.
• Maintains part identification and accurate records; keeps work area clean and organized.
• Supports team goals and quality improvements by reducing scrap and improving throughput.

Description

• Completes brazing processes and other bonding techniques.
• Set up and operate various manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, polishing, laser I.D, Expander machine, pressure test, and power flush).
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
• Complete inspection and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
• Uses a variety of hand tools, shears, grinders, drills, saws, tube bending and flaring equipment, Tube threading, and other items to be used in assembly.
• Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
• Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
• Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
