Job summary

Duracell is expanding its Global Manufacturing Support team at Science Square Labs in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking a Process Engineer to act as a technical resource across Duracell plants worldwide, driving process improvements and transferring best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, process development, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong foundation in chemical processes and unit operations relevant to powder processing, mixing, compaction, or high-speed assembly.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to formulate clear hypotheses and test them.
• Experience managing technical projects from concept to implementation.
• Excellent written and oral communication to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel internationally (20–30%).

Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and motivated Process Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Support team based at Science Square Labs in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will serve as a technical resource across all Duracell manufacturing plants worldwide, driving process improvements, troubleshooting production challenges, and transferring best practices across our global network. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in chemical engineering and a passion for translating laboratory and pilot-scale insights into reliable, scalable manufacturing processes. You will work cross-functionally with plant engineers, R&D scientists, and senior leadership to improve battery performance, quality, and cost via process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers at Duracell manufacturing sites globally to identify process gaps, troubleshoot production issues, and implement sustainable improvements to product performance and quality.
• Support and lead process development and scale-up initiatives, translating lab- and pilot-scale findings into robust manufacturing processes.
• Design and execute structured experiments (Design of Experiments) in both pilot and production environments to deepen process understanding and drive performance improvements.
• Collaborate with senior R&D and operations leadership to align project scope, priorities, and deliverables with business goals.
• Define project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements; manage execution within scope and budget.
• Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly and with impact — in both written reports and oral presentations — to audiences at all levels.
• Mine and analyze existing production datasets to identify improvement opportunities and inform decision-making.
• Build strong relationships with plant teams across multiple geographies, supporting knowledge transfer and capability development.
• Travel to Duracell manufacturing facilities globally as needed to provide on-site technical support (estimated 20-30%).

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, process development, or manufacturing engineering.
• Solid understanding of chemical processes and unit operations relevant to powder processing, mixing, compaction, or high-speed assembly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to break down complex issues into clear problem statements and testable hypotheses.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and execute technical projects from concept through implementation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally (estimated 20-30%).

Preferred

• Experience in battery manufacturing, electrochemical systems, or energy storage technologies.
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
• Prior experience working in or supporting global/multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Experience with data mining, process analytics, or manufacturing execution systems.
