Job summary

Vallourec Tube-Alloy LLC's Halliburton Cell in Lafayette, LA seeks a Lead CNC operator to manage daily cell operations, including job setup, training, gage calibration, and CNC program revisions.

You will oversee flow of work in the machine shop, provide tooling and instructions for next jobs, collaborate with machinists to reduce setup times, and ensure HS&E compliance and 5S standards. This role coordinates with supervision and directs daily manufacturing activities.

Description

The Halliburton Cell is a Vallourec Tube-Alloy function on the Halliburton site.

The location of this will be in Lafayette, LA.

Lead
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for daily operations of the cell. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, job setup, training, gage calibration, CNC program revision and flow of product through the machine shop.

DUTIES:

• Provide the CNC operator(s) gages, programs, drawings, inspection sheets, protectors, setup material, and inserts for the next job scheduled on a machine.
• Capable of obtaining information from the VAM I-Key.
• Work with other machinist to reduce setup times, improve quality, increase production and properly maintain machines.
• Ability to set-up all gages that the Facility is currently licensed to machine.
• Check product molds or contour tracing when inspection personnel are not promptly available.
• Assist machinists in the daily performance and problem solving of their jobs.
• Write CNC programs for parts that are build-to-print.
• Train machinists in proper procedures for editing CNC programs.
• In the absence of the Supervisor – Machine Shop, assume the Manufacturing Supervisory responsibilities.
• Verify and approve Employee hours worked in the time keeping system.
• Responsible for directing activities from the Daily Manufacturing Schedule.
• Flexible and willing to shift priorities, work overtime and assist in areas of the facility as directed by Supervision.
• Ensure all Manufacturing stress relief, forklift, phosphate, weekly maintenance, and crane logbooks are maintained.
• Ensure all Manufacturing 5S Standards are maintained.
• Participate with a Continuous Improvement Team at minimum, once per year.
• Responsible to insure all Employees are following all applicable HS&E policies and procedures.
• Successfully complete all training specified related to CNC 4 job level.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
