Job summary

Stealth Battery Startup in California is seeking a Cell Electrode Engineer to join a fast-moving team focused on developing lithium-ion battery electrodes and scale-up. You will select materials, formulate electrodes, and run electrochemical tests to drive performance, safety, and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to design, fabricate, and evaluate cells from lab to pilot scale, applying data-driven methods and rigorous safety practices in a dynamic startup

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery chemistry and fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on laboratory or manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Convert system and cell-level requirements into electrode-level requirements.
  • Prototype electrodes using appropriate materials to meet electrode-level requirements.
  • Develop electrochemical test protocols relevant to the end application.
  • Characterize electrodes by assembling cells and conducting electrochemical tests.
  • Conduct physicochemical analyses to elucidate electrode failure modes.
  • Scale up successful electrode formulations from the lab to the pilot line.
  • Synthesize experimental results and contribute to technical reports.
  • Drive electrode development cycles using first principles and a data-driven approach.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Role
