Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Research Technician II to support ongoing projects in the Li Lab. You will apply molecular, cellular, biochemical, and imaging techniques to study biological mechanisms in vitro and in some projects in vivo.

Responsibilities include designing experiments, maintaining records, analyzing data, and contributing to publications. Experience with laboratory techniques is preferred; animal work may be involved in certain projects but is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field with coursework in the assigned area; no strict experience required.
• Two years of college with emphasis in coursework in the field of assignment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; relevant lab exposure accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scientific and medical research work in biology and related fields.
• Assemble and operate laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Record research data per procedures and discuss results with supervisor.
• Assist in data collection for project reports and manuscripts.
• Read literature and consult supervisor on new procedures.
• May supervise lower-grade staff on limited tasks.
