Job summary

KBI Biopharma, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate II to join the Analytical and Formulation Sciences team in Durham, NC.

You will perform cell-based assays and ELISAs, analyze data, and contribute to cGMP-compliant projects with state-of-the-art instrumentation. The role requires a chemistry/biochemistry background with lab experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related area (or equivalent training) with 2+ years’ experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years’ experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in cell-based assay analytical techniques.
• Good oral presentation and technical writing skills.
• Able to record information, facts, and measurements per cGMP, GLP, GCP standards.
• Understanding of biotherapeutic regulatory requirements and expectations.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform 96-well cell-based assays with absorbance, luminescent, or fluorescent readouts using plate readers and flow cytometers.
• Maintain multiple cell lines with aseptic technique and prevent cross-contamination.
• Record data accurately and maintain notebooks per SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Label, handle, and store chemicals properly and dispose of hazardous waste according to safety procedures.
• Attend required safety and health training and adapt to changing tasks as needed.
