Moore County Schools Southern Pines Elementary School in Southern Pines, NC seeks a part-time CEIS Reading Intervention Coach to support literacy development for staff and students.

The position starts immediately, reports to the Principal, and offers $25/hour up to 25 hours/week. Ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Education/Reading with 5+ years public school teaching experience and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or Reading
  • Public school teaching experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Letterland and Language for Learning Intervention training
  • Teach evidence-based reading and writing strategies to staff and students
  • Model evidence-based reading and writing strategies for staff members
  • Observe and provide feedback to teachers and assistants regarding intervention strategies
  • Work with EC Program Coach to identify appropriate intervention times and groups
  • Progress monitor students in intervention groups
  • Provide progress monitoring data to Neil Waters on a monthly basis
  • Collaborate with EC Program Coach to identify appropriate evidence-based interventions for students
  • Lead intervention groups as appropriate
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor

Term of Employment: 8 months

Salary: $25/hour (Max: 25 hours/week)

FLSA Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to this job classification within Moore County Schools.

Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

  • Operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, overhead projectors, and data projectors
