Metric Engineering, Inc. is seeking a qualified CEI Senior Inspector to join our team in Sarasota, FL.

The role conducts advanced field inspection, surveying, construction layout, and verification of engineering computations while providing leadership to junior inspectors. Responsibilities include inspecting roadway and bridge construction for FDOT compliance, preparing daily reports, monitoring progress, and reporting deficiencies.

Qualifications

• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1 certification.
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection certification.
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
• Minimum of 4 years of construction inspection experience, or 2 years of bridge/roadway construction experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway and bridge construction for compliance with FDOT plans and specs.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain project documentation.
• Monitor construction progress; document quantities, materials, and workmanship.
• Identify deficiencies and report issues to the CEI Senior Inspector.
• Ensure contractors meet standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Assist with final estimates, record keeping, and project closeout documentation.

Metric Engineering is seeking a qualified CEI Senior Inspectorto join our team in Sarasota, FL. This position plays a critical role in monitoring construction projects and ensuring that work is completed in accordance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and FDOT requirements.
• Prepare detailed daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Monitor construction progress and document quantities, materials, and workmanship.
• Identify and report deficiencies, discrepancies, or potential issues to the CEI Senior Inspector.
• Ensure contractors adhere to project standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Assist with final estimates, record keeping, and project closeout documentation.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of construction inspection experience, or
• Minimum of 2 year of bridge and/or roadway constructions experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Candidates must possess the following certifications:

• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• FDOT Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
