HNTB is seeking an experienced field inspector to support daily inspection efforts on multiple complex infrastructure projects in Florida. You will prepare reports, review pay estimates with contractors for accuracy, and assemble data for field engineers to assist in making project changes.

You may mentor inspectors and participate in staff development. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 9 years of construction experience, with required jurisdictional certificates.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work to ensure conformance with schedule and plans.
• Advices Contractor superintendent of necessary actions to ensure plan conformance.
• Performs sophisticated mathematical calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work.
• Reviews Inspector's daily report and contractor labor/equipment usage.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches.
• May lead daily assignments and mentor staff inspectors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This opportunity entails being responsible for daily inspection efforts on multiple complex, large, and /or diverse projects. Prepares daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor and reviews periodical pay estimates with contractor for accuracy. Prepares sketches and assembles data for Field Engineer to utilize when making changes to the project. May participate in the mentoring, development, and evaluation of staff inspectors.

What You'll Do:

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Advises Contractor superintendent of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plan, specs, and contract. Reviews and resolves quantity disputes with contractor.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform sophisticated and complicated mathematical calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work to date.
• Reviews Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches
• May lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 9 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

What You'll Bring:

• Identifies and resolves complex change conditions.
• Mentors staff and coordinates schedules.
• Identifies and resolves complex field issues with the contractor.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Responsible for coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors.
• Responsible for performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator (when applicable).
