Job summary

GFT is seeking a Project Administrator for its Construction Management and CEI group in the Port St. Lucie area, serving Treasure Coast, Palm Beach, and Okeechobee counties. The role requires overseeing records, reviews, and estimates with FDOT District 4 knowledge, supervising inspectors and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree with 2+ years in major road or bridge construction.
  • Non-degreed candidates with 8 years of related experience and 2+ years on major road/bridge projects are eligible.
  • Must have supervised two or more inspectors and support staff and been responsible for CEI services.
  • CTQP certifications listed in job requirements (Final Estimates II, MOT, QC Manager).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain construction project records per FDOT procedures.
  • Interface with Owner, Contractor and staff on plans, submittals, and daily activities.
  • Review daily inspection reports and quantity computations.
  • Possess intimate knowledge of FDOT District 4 processes.
  • Direct tasks to inspectors and assist in all project phases.
  • Oversee progress and final estimates throughout project duration.

What You Will Do

Our Treasure Coast Construction Team is looking for a Project Administrator for our Construction Management and Construction Engineering Inspection group in the Port St. Lucie, FL area. This Position will work out of the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach, and Okeechobee, Florida areas.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Maintenance of construction project records in accordance with FDOT procedures
  • Interface with the Owner, Contractor, and inspection staff on various facets of the project including review of contract plans and documents, day-to-day construction activities and review of contractors’ submittals
  • Perform/oversee the review of daily inspection reports and quantity computations
  • Respondents should have intimate working knowledge of FDOT District 4
  • Receives general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of work problems
  • Directs and assigns specific tasks to inspectors and assists in all phases of the construction project
  • Responsible for the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration
Education | Experience
  • A Civil Engineering degree plus two (2) years of engineering experience in construction of major road or bridge structures
  • For non-degreed personnel eight (8) years of responsible and related engineering experience, two (2) years of which involved construction of major road or bridge structures with the exception of Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures.
  • To be in primary control, a Project Administrator must have supervised two or more inspectors as well as two or more support staff (Office Manager, Compliance Officer, and Secretary) and must have been directly responsible for all CEI services assigned
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II
  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • Attend CTQP Quality Control Manager Course and pass the examination.
  • A Master's Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of engineering experience
Compensation

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
