Job summary

ETM Inc. seeks a CEI Inspector to provide field observation, testing, and measurement services during construction. The role acts as a liaison with client, engineer, contractor, and authorities, focusing on roadway, structure, and specialty items such as asphalt, earthwork, and concrete.

You will document quantities for payment and assist the Senior Inspector. The job requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of related construction inspection experience (1 year in bridge/roadway), FDOT

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related construction inspection experience; one year in bridge/roadway inspection.
• FDOT project administration familiarity and training in MAC, BlueBeam, Hummingbird, Site Manager.
• CTQP certification in Asphalt, Concrete, Earthwork, pile driving and drilled shafts required.

Job description

Who we are looking for...

We are seeking a CEI Inspector that will provide field observation, testing and measurement services as liaison with project stakeholders that include the client, engineer, contractor, utility agencies, and regulatory authorities during the construction phase of a project. The Inspector will work within a team environment and assist the Team Leader/Senior Inspector in observing, measuring, testing, and documenting the progress, quality, and quantity of work performed by the contractor. Inspector will be responsible for performing inspection, testing and material sampling services for conformance to plans and specifications for all roadway, structure, and specialty items; mostly comprised of asphalt, earthwork, and concrete elements. The Inspector shall observe, measure, and record all construction quantities for contractor payment including understanding of mathematical calculations associated with quantity measurement. Measurements shall be in field books for review by the engineer, client, or auditors to ensure they are within contract requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must have two (2) years of related experience in construction inspection; one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
• Understanding of FDOT constru
  ction project administration methods and processes including but not limited to training in MAC, BlueBeam, Hummingbird and Site Manager programs.
• CTQP Certification in Asphalt, Concrete, Earthwork, pile driving and drilled shafts are required.

management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you’ll need the following qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies and/or conflicts, solve problems and develop documentation.
• Ability to utilize survey equipment to verify field measurements and survey grades during construction, including but not limited to the use of GPS Rovers and Base system, to provide real-time feedback as to whether construction services meet project requirements.
