Job summary

HDR is hiring a CEI Inspection Aide to work on the Florida CEI program at project sites in Crystal River and Tampa. You will conduct observations, monitor progress, and assist with field testing to help ensure quality and safety on civil infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, MS Office experience, and the ability to work independently, with a mindset aligned to HDR's employee-owned culture. Local candidates preferred; visa sponsorship is not available.

HDR is hiring a CEI Inspection Aide to work as a member of our Florida CEI (Construction Engineering and Inspection) program at project sites in Crystal River and Tampa, FL. Our CEI team primarily works independently on FDOT projects consisting of milling and resurfacing, bridge construction, signalization, earthwork operations, stripping operations, and final estimate preparation. They interact on a daily basis with FDOT Project Administrators and other FDOT personnel. In the role of Construction Inspector Aide, we'll count on you to:

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines
• Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects
• Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing
• Receive supervision from the Construction Inspectors who reviews work while in progress
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection
• Ability to interpret construction schedules
• Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
