HDR is hiring an Inspector Aide to assist our CEI Construction Inspection team on transportation projects. This position will be based at our project site in Orlando, Florida.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and stormwater systems.
2. Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects.
3. Conduct or coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing.
4. Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
5. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
6. Must obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT within the first six months of the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Technical school or Associate's degree.
2. Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection.
3. Ability to interpret construction schedules.
