Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As a CEI Bridge and Roadway Inspector in Wheeling, WV and southern areas of the state, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of major transportation infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do:

• Execute inspection and oversight duties on bridges and roadways, ensuring adherence to project specifications, contracts, and safety protocols.

• Monitor construction activities including land clearing, earthwork, asphalt and concrete paving, bridge construction, and traffic control setups.

• Collect samples and conduct tests on construction materials to ensure quality and compliance.

• Maintain detailed reports documenting inspection findings, project status, and contractor performance.

• Review erosion control installations to ensure environmental compliance.

• Attend project meetings, collaborating with contractors and engineers on project updates.

• Verify compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• A High School diploma/GED and 4+ years of highway-related construction or inspection experience OR

• A 2-year technical degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 2+ years of highway-related construction experience OR

• A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering Technology.

• A WV TRET Certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.

• Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.

• Strong math and technical writing skills.

What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

• Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions.

• Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours).

• Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment.

• Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites.

• Exposure to highway traffic, uneven terrain, and heavy machinery, with potential for extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
