Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Lisle, IL is seeking a CEG Intern for the summer of 2027 to gain hands-on experience in construction project management. This role provides exposure to change orders, submittals, RFIs, and daily project reporting under supervision.

You will interact with multiple departments, support project teams, and contribute to the delivery of quality work while developing professional skills in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, construction, project management, or related field.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of change orders and contracts.
• Assist in project submittals, RFIs and punch list management.
• Assist in construction engineering monitoring of the project.
• Prepare daily reports.

Purpose

This position provides an introduction to construction project management through practical work experience.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

• Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.

At The Operational And Company Level

• Interact with multiple departments and peers within the organization and participate in intern program learning and development opportunities.

Do the Work

• Assist in the preparation of change orders and contracts.
• Assist in project submittals, RFI's and punch list management.
• Assist in construction engineering monitoring of the project.
• Prepare daily reports.

Qualifications

Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience. Range $20 - $25/hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

• Partially indoor professional office environment which may include exposure to bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
• Partially outdoor work environment which may include exposure to adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
• Mobility around an office environment.
• Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Primarily local travel during the business day.
• Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
