Job summary

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc. is seeking a Construction Equipment Shop Technician to perform diesel engine and equipment repairs in our shop. The role emphasizes accurate diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

You'll work on equipment for mining, construction and paving sectors, with training and tools provided to support success. Industrial shop environment requires strong attention to detail and reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires technical training or school background related to diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Experience or training in painting or body work is not required for this role, but familiarity helps.
• Candidate should be able to diagnose and repair equipment with attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and major components on heavy equipment.
• Overhaul engines and major subsystems as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Work with safety standards; maintain clean and organized work area.

Position Summary:

Cleveland Brothers Caterpillar is seeking highly skilled Diesel Technicians for shop positions working on Diesel engines or construction equipment as well as other supporting equipment.

The focus of this position will be to provide Diesel Engine and other mechanical repairs on a wide range of customers from the mining, construction and paving industries.

Cleveland Brothers will provide you the necessary training and specialty tools to be successful as a technician working for the largest equipment company in Pennsylvania.

Primary Responsibilities:

Care and maintenance of all Jenny Room/Paint Room equipment; Inventory of all cleaning and painting supplies; preparation of equipment to include knowledge of lubrication and maintenance; application of new finish to body parts that have been restored; structural damage machine inspections; calculating cost estimates; looking over and double-checking machine damage reports; repairing minor body damage; priming and sanding surfaces that have been repaired; restoration of coatings and sealers; surface preparation; spray gun operation and related equipment; paint mixing, matching, and applying; solving paint application problems; finish defects, causes, and cures; safety precautions; paint technicians must adhere to very specific principles and that process begins with the surface preparation of a machine or panel. The process continues with paint mixing and then leads into the application of paint. Attend to refinishing stage. Strict safety precautions accompany each phase of the process. At least two years’ experience in painting or auto body industry.

The essential functions of this position include the following:

• This position requires a very high level of attention to details in both cleaning and painting of equipment. Automotive Body and Paint Technician certification preferred.
• Independently and successfully diagnose and repair equipment
• Overhaul engines and other major components
• Previous experience working on heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines
• Knowledge of hydraulics
• Knowledge of electronics
• Intermediate computer skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

As a Shop Mechanic / Technician you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions.

Physical requirements include:

• Overall stamina
• Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
• Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching
• Listening and speaking
• Must have good motor coordination skills
• Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
• Verbal intelligence and numerical intelligence
• The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold, injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

- Work overtime as needed
