University of Kansas is seeking a student hourly to aid and assist in the CE 412 laboratory, supporting faculty, GTA, and students. Responsibilities include fabricating, assembling, testing, and disposing of specimens, operating and maintaining lab equipment, and promoting safe work practices on-site at the Lawrence Campus.
The role is hourly and non-exempt, with department duties in Civil/Environmental/Architectural Engineering.
100%: Aid and assist in the functioning CE 412 laboratory by supporting the work of faculty, GTA, and students. This may include fabrication, assembly, testing, and disposal of specimens and test setups; operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment (cranes, tools, etc.); encouraging and demonstrating safe work practices; and other miscellaneous tasks.
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
